Because of these I haven't been doing much work on bows over the last 2 months. They are 2 Harps, one 22 and the other 24 strings, made of Black Ash with a Spruce sound board.

The first 3 pictures are of the Harps under construction. The next pic shows one Harp finished and the other with the base still missing. The Ash I used was wood I cut a couple years ago. One of the tree I cut was quite unusual in that it had wood I had never seen in Black Ash, also made the wood difficult to work. It was curly Ash and it is very neat looking once finished, you can see this in some of the pictures. My wife was asked to do a bit of artwork on them, you can see the figured wood in these pics as well.

Beautiful work, Marc. Ash is a beautiful wood and this curly ash is exceptional.

The harps are really sweet. :)I love wood with that kind of character.
Kudos to the artist. Nice work! 8)
I am guessing the spruce aids in the sound, being less ridged as the ash?
Now, if you can figure out how to launch multiple arrows? >:D

That is beautiful. I have never heard a harp played, but I bet it is beautiful too.

Thanks guys. The curly Ash looks good but it's a bugger to plane.

They are beautiful; always fancied making a harp, never been brave enough to try - where did you learn?
-
Beautiful. Listening to them played well is a real treat. Thanks for sharing, Marc.

Thanks guys
I guess you can say I am self taught. Looked at some harps, did some online research and tackled the project with open mind.
The 22 string went to a retired nurse of Irish descent who is now blind, she was pleased beyond belief when she picked up here harp. We added some stickies to the sound board at every C's and F's to help her find her way.
