Post by: Pat B on October 17, 2016, 11:38:28 am
Do not put any direct links on the PA website unless they are a sponsor. Doing so could get you banned from PA!!!

Is this something new Pat?
I haven't been aware of this and have
like others posted many. I don't want to be
in error of the rules.
Thanks Zuma

It has been the policy and lately no one has been checking their You Tube videos to see if they have commercial links. The members and vendors that pay for advertising on the site and Magazine have that exclusive right.

Pat, Just for clarity-- Forum Rule 8 is the only rule that mentions "links"
Is this what you mean or is there a new rule?

Rules, rules. Yeah we have to have a few rules but they're simple and straightforward

Rule #8

Only paying advertisers (in the magazine or on the website) will be allowed to have links on their signature to their home page.

Thanks Pat,

We've given 64 warnings since 2012, most for posting improper links. We've discussed it over and over again since then and every few months it comes up again. As long as someone can't click on the link to open it up, it is OK to use here on PA. You can give the name of a company or a commercial site but you CAN NOT post a direct link.

Would it not be prudent to remove the hyperlink feature?
Thanks Pat.
