I'm looking for real olive staves. Not Russian olive. The kind of olive that grows in the middle east. I know this is a long shot, but PM me if you have any leads.
Thanks
Chuck

O got excited when I saw this because there is Russian Olive everywhere. So real olives grow in Ca. I have seen the groves but there are many varieties. Watching this thread because this is interesting.

It's turning into a major crop around the Ocala area in Florida.

Might have a hard time finding a stave but I have seen it advertised in board form at A&M woods

I got boards of straight grained olive wood 90 cm long through a wood company in Russia that sells it for instrument making...along with plum, apple, pear and some cool European walnut.  Just spliced them and bravo, a full length bow. Shipping just about killed me, but the price of the wood was very fair and they worked with sizing for me. Worth a thought if you can't find any staves. Their plum was really nice quality as well. I'd post a link, but against the rules.
