Title: Bottle ID
Post by: Zuma on October 26, 2016, 10:36:08 am
Found this bottle. The stopper is loose inside the bottle.
I have never seen one like it. The stopper is hard not cork. Kinda
like a plastic sound when rolled around inside the bottle.
Any ideas??
Thanks Zuma

I have no idea, snake oil maybe.
Seriously, it's a cool bottle though, I love digging in old bottle dumps you never know what you will find.

Did you try rubbing it and asking for three wishes?  That's a pretty awesome backdrop on the second photo.

How big is the bottle?
It sort of looks like an old bleach bottle that I once had found many+ years ago but that one was brown and did have markings on it.
The stopper might be an old rubber one that hardened over the years.
I remember when old bottle collecting was a popular hobby years ago. The 'trick" was if you found an old farmhouse stand on the back porch, (or where the porch had been), and toss a bottle "out back". Where it landed was where you should start looking.  :)

Kevin
I had a buddy back in NJ that actually mined an old town dump, timbers and all.
He sorta got me interested in old bottles.

Bubby, thanks. I'll post a photo. BTW its just has one seam including the
neck and rim. And I guess the stopper could be a cork or rubber that
hardened up without shrinking??

Timbo I did rub it--third pic. ;)

Paul The old clorox bottles were amber. The bottoms make nice arrow points.

thanks again guys,
Zuma

Being a retired nurse, I would say it is an old IV bottle that held some therapeutic solution. I have seen similar ones.

It is an old ammonia bottle . According to my neighbor it has no value.

Except maybe the bottom, lol.

Don't have a clue what was in it, but cool just the same, I collect some old bottles and always love finding the old cork ones, very cool. I found a few old cork ones , but much smaller, My uncle that was much older at the time said they were old aspirin bottles, and of course some old Whiskey bottles, the Baggett's loved their Whiskey.  ;) :) or so I am told. ;)

You are correct Pat.
I did a thread on it back when I found it.
The members here :) told me what it is.
