Hi all,was really hoping this rock maple cut at a old farm stead in southern manitoba.the tree is only about 3" at the butt.i'm sure it's not native to the. Area.well fairly sure.thoughts, thx's bush!

The leaves really look like Douglas Maple but you're way far east for that. The bark color is wrong too but that could be local conditions. Can you take a picture of the tip of a twig?

Marc might know this one.Is that fungus or something on there.Does'nt mean it's all bad but was just wondering. You guys up farther north usually got good access to natural hard maple.

Its either red maple or mountain maple. Mountain maple might be native to manitoba.
