Title: String groove
Post by: DC on November 13, 2016, 04:37:36 pm
Is a string groove on a recurve necessary? Advisable?

it would depend on how wide the limb is,, and how much recurve,, but I think its a good idea on most,,

I agree with Brad. If the belly of the recurve is flat and the string runs perfectly down the center it probably isn't necessary. I always do it just in case. If the string slides off the limb it can reverse the bow and really cause problems.

If it contacts it, why not? Plus it's lighter.  ;)
