Title: Degreasing blackstrap sinew
Post by: High-Desert on January 12, 2017, 10:00:59 am
I've always backed bows with leg sinew, but I have a some back sinew that I'm going to try on a horn bow and I have heard that it needs cleaned better than leg sinew because it's more greasy. Te stiff I have doesn't seem that bad. What is the best method for doing this? Thanks

Eric

I've used back sinew on 5 or 6 bows and have never degreased anything, including the bows back. I know it doesn't answer your question of how to do it.

Dawn soap and water will do that.A good number of fresh rinseings after if your worried about that.
