Title: Black locust flexy handle
Post by: Knoll on February 24, 2017, 06:25:25 pm
Finished tillering on this stick a few minutes ago.
58" ttt. 1 5/8" at fades.
Front profile is mostly pyramid.
This one started out much longer and was thinking to make molle. Did not like profile I created. So shortened it up and made into, as much as possible, pyramid profile ... maybe hint of eiffel tower.    ???
Cropped the elbow so Pearl wouldn't gig me for it being so high.   ;)

. . . and a stave to boot😉 . . .
hush!

Ed, we've not had a lick of snow this winter. Birds never bothered to migrate. Spring plants are several inches above ground. This weekend gotta start working on yard/garden equipment.
Mild/mild/mild winter!

I love that bend. Looks just right. I just blew up an air-backed BL bow today. I'm glad yours turned out. Cheers!

Nice looking bow you got going there Knoll. Man I feel sorry for you. No snow all winter. How  do you have any fun.lol. Really it's been a easy winter here to. We had a few cold windy spells, but gee it was really warm this week. No snow here either but that could change in a hurry if it decides to. Actually could have used a little more snow for coyote hunting. Wildlife is having easy winter here.

When did lumber yards start selling black locust boards?  ;D

That's a nice looking bow Knoll.  Tiller looks great.

Clint I was shocked when I found out he used one of the MANY staves I gave him. I thought for sure he was ripping them all into boards. Mike that is a fantastic tiller job my friend. Looks like you have something figured out.

Don't anyone tell Jon, but I've broken more of his staves than he'll ever guess.   O:)

Very nice looking bow. Excellent tiller job. I have been eyeing up several locusts for years where I hunt, this makes me want to give them a shot.
