Title: Which wood?
Post by: Cromm on March 14, 2008, 05:12:52 am
Hi, I got the chance for one bit of wood. One is Osage and is about 50in long and the other is Hickory and about 60in long. Which should i get and why, remember i can only have the one? Thanks for your time and help.

Depends whats your draw length and weight you want, where do live humid or dry enviroment, is one stave straight and clean and the other a character stave,
whats your skill level, do you prefer rigid handle vs a bendy handle. And most of all why can't ya get both ;)

I would generally take the 'sage, but 50" long-nope. Unless the 'sage is wide enough to split into billets, I'd snarf the hickory.

Even the hickory is too short for me but 50 in is for sure. I don't like short bows. Jawge
