AINT EASY!
for me at least, I've made about 8 vids and finally got one to upload.
The first few where like 4.5 gigs each, so last night after much tinkering with the camera, I finally got something that would work.
I made some mistakes and mistrikes in it but it's a start.
I'll try to make improvements in vid quality as well as the knapping and just do a few simple videos of my methods.
Anyway!
My you tube handle is Stone Hook
search and find me and there will only be one video to choose from.

Hmmm, not having luck finding it...would you post the link?

Really good video. Only one tool! From the looks of the floor - you have plenty of stock to work with.

Nice video 1442. I like how you say humm when you make a mistake. I sometimes slip and say something that would have to be bleeped out.lol. I try not to but my dad thought me a few words that still slip out once and awhile.

Gonna check this out after work. Thanks for taking the time to shoot video and post it. My abysmal napping can use all the help I can find!

I just subscribed.

Wow! Thanks!
I attempted another video tonight, but broke the piece well into it where I should have done swapped to indirect.
It's gonna take some time to get used to knapping in front of a camera and keeping everything in view.

I posted another video on you tube.
Actually three vids of the same rock but the video stopped recording for some reason in the third and I didn't realize it for a while.
I moved the camera more out front and it's much more comfortable that way, I actually forgot it was there a couple times.

I was into the reduction when you took that end off. I saw the ridge you hit but just took about an inch of the end off. Enjoyed watching the video. Thanks.

good videos and nice stones you got there
that declared flake at 10:00 of the first video is awesome

Thanks
I'm working on more to try to show how I use indirect percussion. My computer was filled full and I've been going through it getting rid of a bunch of stuff to make more room, and then I'll have to do some editing to get rid of a lot of boring repetitiveness. I taped a couple hours worth of video making this preform, and the rock was a mess of concrete inclusions with a really thin section of good stone right under the cortex on one side. I should pick better rocks to video with but it made for some really interesting reduction.
I'll get it done in the next few days.

I prefer to see how you handle difficult stones than a perfect result. It's much more instructive

I have wounded my PC with all the video and am having to clean out some space on it, but I'll try to get it going again and post the vids soon.

Video editing is time and hardware demanding.
It usually take a while to find out how to optimize video quality and recording length not to flood your pc :OK

They are sooo much more effort than they seem like they would be. Been meaning to make more but first I have to get my groove back.
Killer looking preform.
