Title: Basket number two
Post by: Lucasade on July 06, 2017, 03:37:28 pm
I thought I'd try using willow this time rather than bark, it seems much easier once I worked out what form to use. The uprights are hazel, and the bottom is the bark stripped from the hazel plus some cherry bark. I'll finish the bottom with moss raked out of my lawn.

How long did it take? I think that would be a fine asset (Naked and Alone)
I totally like it

About half an hour to collect the materials and the same to make the basket. I did cheat and use a drill to make a form to put the uprights in, but in the wild you could just poke them into the ground?

Good work on that basket...I'm sure it's tough as nails too.

Thank you all - it seems to be holding up well so far. This one's for my Mum's birthday but I think I'll make a couple more for collecting fruit from our garden in.

it's a nice basket and very good for your second
for the bottom you'd like to check some online tutorial
it will produce a scheme like the one in the picture attached and provide a more solid way to attach the upright

That looks much better - now I've got the basics sorted I will start working on improving the finish.
