Title: Adding a reel to a bow?
Post by: upstatenybowyer on September 30, 2017, 07:14:03 am
I've been thinking about doing this for a while.  (SH) +  )F( =  (-S

I'm curious how others have gone about it. Anyone care to share? Pics would be especially cool.  8)

I known GUTSHOT had a takedown Osage that had a fishing reel attachment, it was posted for last years October self BOM, but the photos were hi-jacked by photo-bucket.

I put a reel on one but never took pics. I use a reel that screwed into a stabilizer insert. I bent a piece of soft aluminum that allowed a bolt to be fastened in the center while the aluminum lay flush. I fasten the aluminum with the bolt to the bottom handle by wrapping with serving, about 2" above and below. I coated the serving with ca glue. It held solid and wasn't too hard to remove later. Other then the store bought reel it looked nice.
