Yesterday I dropped the hammer on a big doe, unfortunately I had forgotten to take my leather frizzen cover off, no spark, no bang.
This morning I remembered;

The gun is a .54 Lancaster style flintlock, my first build and a little crude but it gets the job done.

Way to go!! It is pretty important to take the cover off before striking >:D :-D -C-, in order to make meat! Especially with a flintlock! Your first rifle looks pretty good. Congratulations

Some tender meat for the freezer.

:OK

The first one was dress rehearsal! And they say bad dress rehearsal, great opening. You proved it!

Osage outlaw Eric was nice enough to give most of that meat to me for my freezer. He even threw the hindquarters and shoulders in the cooler for me. Bow season opened October 14, but my back went south about a week prior. Nice to have friends like Eric. Thanks again Eric!
