Title: string silencers placement, could this be right?
Post by: Ed Brooks on November 21, 2017, 11:14:07 am
I had a bow strung up, and I pushed down on the top end of the bow with the bottom on the floor. bending the bow a little bit like it was being drawn, so bent in the correct direction.
I noticed the bottom of the string would buckle in the same place(s) every time I bent the bow. I checked a new string and it didn't have the same kind of buckle point as a used string. I also noticed the new string wasn't as loud as the used one. Or at least that's what I think I heard.
My questions would be.
Is this maybe the best place to put a string silencer?
Has anyone else ever noticed this, or heard of this?
thank you for your time. Ed

Silencers are usually placed 8 to 10 inches from the ends of the string.
