Title: Question for Gordon:
Post by: timber wolfe on March 23, 2008, 03:44:34 pm
Hi Gordon, ~ in your bow build-along you use two dyes, - black and brown.  My question is: how do you fade one into the other?  I see you put black on first and then you fade it; then it looks like you bring the brown into it.  How do you get the brown going into the black without covering up the black?

I put the brown dye on first, followed by the black dye. Then fade the edge of the black into the brown by rubbing with steel wool and alcohol if necessary.

Great question Timber Wolfe and excellant timing. I'm planning on putting dye on a bow for the first time probably this week.

Thanks for the information Gordon! :)
