This bow is all BL heartwood. There was a big knot, which never reached the surface, so I drilled it out and filled it with ebony dust and epoxy. It was my first time fuming and I was really impressed with the result. Thanks to Simson for the how-to on his website. :)
62" ntn
50# @ 27"
deer antler overlays
cork under tanned cobra skin on the handle
a bit of leather for the arrow pass
I'll post chrony results if folks are interested, but the heaviest arrow I've got is 450 grains.
Thanks for looking

You're turning out bows of a high caliber in mind boggling succession! Another beauty - hard to imagine what's next!

Thanks fellas. I'm glad you like it. It means a lot to hear what ya'll think. :)

great looking bow! you have done an awesome job working around that knot without impacting your tiller. I like the handle as well.
-
Another fine bow. Arvin

Man i'm struggling to find the time to make one bow, in the time you've made like half a dozen? How do you do it and what do you do with them all?
-
Nice job Jeff, cool bow and the fuming looks great.
That big knot would make me nervous ... , but obviously everything is fine. Congrats.

Another dandy Jeff.Nice work.

Love that one mate. Great job! :)

Definitely beautiful. I particularly like the contrast of dark wood with light grip.
Wish I had BL growing around here!

Great job working around that knot. Beautiful bow

Looks great! Fuming sure does darken bl up, on my long list of things to try someday. That's some knot you had to work with but full draw pic looks great. Mike

Another nice one.

gfugal, at any given time I've got 3-5 bows in the works. I always have to have one to work on cause it's my primary stress reliever. I really like giving them to people who will use them.
Simson, the fuming really does wonders and it's pretty easy to do. The hardest part was finding 10% ammonia, but I finally found it at a local mom/pop hardware store.
I really appreciate all the kind words guys. )P(

That looks great Upstate! Love the fumed look on BL and your light handle really matches the dark fuming job! Just finished a fumed BL recurve myself and I must add that normal household ammonia works fine too. I use that for my fuming and get about the same darkness as yours on BL in about 4 days

That's a great looking bow! I love the bend and the way you did the antler tip overlays. Great looking recurves! :OK

Thank you both. :) That's good to know about the ammonia Leon, I look forward to seeing that BL bow of yours (-S
