Title: Last Couple Bows
Post by: Bayou Ben on March 19, 2018, 10:14:07 am
I'm thinking about entering the swap, and saw that you needed to have posted at least one successful bow before entering, so here's some pics of the last few  I've been working on....

The 1st one is bamboo/walnut/ipe only 40#, the 2nd is bamboo/yellowheart/ipe and I'm at 50# @ 21" right now.

Pretty nice.  I see a lot of tiller difference in the first one when drawn on the tree versus the hand though.  Good bow to post in one of those tillering threads when discussing where the bow is held on the tree versus the hand.

Thanks guys.  I agree PatM.  I noticed the same thing with the tilt in the hand.  I normally replicate my bow hand a little better on the tree with pieces of leather that represent the pivot, but with this one I was already too light in draw weight, and I just wanted to see how it would turn out without removing anymore wood.  I look forward to the tillering threads, as I've played around with different methods before settling on what I'm doing now.
Turned out to be a nice low weight shooter though.
