Sorry no full draw pic, but I made this bow several years ago and it is just one of those favorites I remember well.
It's from a 2.25" diameter elm sapling, only 64" long, a R/D Mollie hybrid, tips about 3/4" ahead of the handle. Little lateral jag at the handle, and some experimental nocks. Originally made 47# with more like 1-1/4", I had to retiller to 42# because the shorter bottom limb weakened over time, reversing the tiller and taking that tad more set.

That looks like a smooth shooter, I bet she was pretty quick as well.

She seemed nice and quick for draw weight, and yes, a really smooth draw even at only 64" long. To my eye, this was one of the prettier self bows I have made.

Love the lines on that bow. Looks fast and smooth!

Beauty! how did you shape the reflexed limbs? or was it natural bend?
-
Good looking stick, nice work. :)

I'm new to this site and love to find another awesome bow to admire.

Very nice Springbuck. I love that shape.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but what defines this as a mollie?

Hmm, I think I would like to shoot that!

You really did good on that little sapling. Makes me want to cut a bunch.

Thanks for the link Willie! May have to try that design, since I have ties to that region! Would use the best available wood. Also like the Meare Heath design, closer to the Celtic, I think!

Aksel, it started with a naturally deflexed stave, reflexed with heat.
Ben, It's not a REAL mollie, just has the wider bending inner limbs and stiff, thicker, narrow outer limbs.
This was a good example to me of how much bow you can get out of a very little tree.
Thanks, guys!
