Thanks jw. I have almost made it there now. Being something of a narcoleptic makes driving long hauls difficult.

I got it taken care of, and we are on the road. Wow, what an experience.

Great news!

I had to cut an access hole in the floor panel. I tried droppimg the tank but the welded anchor nuts broke loose. I couldnt get the mounting bolts off after that. So, i went and bought a big grinder, and went to cutting.

Way to go. Those in tank pumps suck. Pretty pricey too.
Glad you are out of the woods. Naw that's not right.
Glad you are up and running. :) :D ;D

I wanna figure out if I can make a frame mounted pump for when these intank ones crap out. Maybe make an adapter kit. Could get rich off of that.
I recall a time when I had a carborated truck, the fuel pump quit on my way to work. But I had gone boating the day before and still had a boat tank with hose and primer bulb in the bed. I ran the fuel line to the carb, rolled down the passenger window, ran the line to the passenger seat, and sat the tank there. I sat in the middle cause the line wasnt long enough, and the primer bulb was out the window. So I made it to work, sittin in the middle, leaned over, right hand out the passenger window, squeezing the fuel primer bulb every few moments, when the truck would start to cough. Eventually I got the timing down and it drove fine... Good times.

Me and a buddy did kinda the same thing with a tomato can with a small hole in the bottom. Just let it dribble into the carb. Probably a little hard on rings but it got us home.

Hehe, now thats redneck engineering!

Sleek, I done the same thing with an access hole in the bed of a Chevy pickup I had. Replaced a fuel pump and two weeks later the new one crapped out. I cut a hole and put steel flat strap on the bottom of the bed for the door to rest on. Put a hinge on the piece of bed that I cut out and had a good opening that I could seal but could still pull a pump easily. Had the truck for 12 more years and never used the opening again lol. I have been told that online pumps will not produce enough pressure for modern fuel injection.
