Hi, Should the feathers you use be soft or stiff? or does it make no difference? The feathers are wild turkey wing feathers. Thanks for your time.
-
they need to be stiff. if they are too soft they wont help steer the arrow. primary and secondary wing feathers are both stiff enough
-
stiff. i tried soft and they ripped off.
-
they both work, Just glue and wrap them good. Tail feathers are softer than wing's and they work great also.
-
I use them all! ;) Pat

Me too...Primaries....Secondaries...Tail Feathers.....and all of the longer feathers on the Tail....I use for Decoration....they are too good looking to toss!!!
-
Soft feathers are less noisy and less durable than stiff feathers. I like soft (tail) feathers.....it's just a matter of personal preference.
-
It's all good.
-
Sounds like your coming along on your arrows Cromm - would like to see them when you get finished :).
-
just make sure it isnt too soft. i use whatever works
