These bend through the handle shortbows are fun! I thought this would be an appropriate bow to build as I set up shop in the Southeast. This is from a shorter, narrow osage stave that I got from Keenan. It was definitely a scenario where you get whatever bow the stave has to offer and nothing more. I will definitely be making more of these in the future. The black sections are leather dye edged with paint. I did some simple little pin nocks to go with the theme.

Great looking little bendy handle. That color pattern looks real good now, but I bet it’ll look amazing once the Osage starts to darken up.

Great looking bow!
-
Very nice! Are you in your new digs now?
-
That leather dye looks great. Very nice bow. Mike
-
Well, that's a cute one.

Nice looking bow.

Nice bendy Weylin. Welcome home.

Thanks, Kyle! I was thinking that too, about the color
Thank you, Mark!
Thanks, DC. I am. This is my backyard. The woods are pretty behind my house, but the lighting is not great for pictures, and I don't have any epic, sweeping landscapes for a backdrop anymore. I like my little shop. I'll post some pictures when it's totally finished.
Thanks, Mike
Aww, shucks... Thanks Eddie
Thank you, Rob
Thanks, Bjrogg!
Someone on facebook kindly pointed out to me that my nock point is high and that my arrow is crooked. He's right! Sheesh, look at that arrow... It is an oceanspray shoot shaft that decided to take advantage of the crazy humidity here and revert back to it's natural form. I didn't notice when I posed for the picture. I'll get a better full draw picture tomorrow. ::)

Very nice tiller and finish!noticed the arrow right away, just thought you were giving it a dirty look!lol!

Nice bendy Weylin...Really nice balanced bend...And yes, you should do more like this one...Like them black tips...
-
Wow amazing... love the fit and finish on that bow.. sooo nice. That would be a perfect bow for deer or a pig.
-
Very nice bow Weylin, but you look so angry in that full draw... ;)

I love simple bows like this. Very pleasing to the eye. Did you have any reflex in the stave to start ? I'm working on an Osage bow very similar to the vine maple willow leaf limb design that you have on youtube. It will be narrower though.

It’s not anger just a little east coast attitude adjustment setting in! ;D
56” Osage sliver makes tons of functional sense to me and great to carry. Cool bow!
Hope things are beginning to settle in for y’all.

classy elegance, you did great work buddy.
I'm always surprised how little wood is needed for serious weapons, would like to know the mass
... what's that huge tree behind you?

Beautiful Bow! I really like the looks of the leather dye. Great bend also.
-
Nice bow Weylin! Those short guys sure are a lot of fun to shoot
-
That's a sweet stick Weylin! Looks like your off to a good start in the east. Cheers- Brendan
-
That is a pretty bow! Looks like you started off great at your new place!
-
Nice looking bow! These short bendys are so nice to shoot.
-
Nice looking bow
-
That’s a great bow. I bet that sure spits an arrow well.
-
Beautiful bow! Do you think you could have gone for 28" draw with this length?
-
Thank you, everyone! Glad you like the bow. I'm getting settled in my new shop and it's working pretty well. I'm getting a lot done on my bows so expect to see a lot more from me coming up soon. I took a new full draw picture with a straight arrow and an attempt at a smile.

That's me concentrating on drawing right handed and grimacing at drawing fastflight barefingered for the 10th time trying to get a good picture

Thanks, Greg. It was basically flat when I started it took a hair of set. Glad that video was helpful to you. Yeah, you should need to go so wide on the osage. Check out Simson's bows. He's the one I got the willowleaf design from

haha, that's right. I think it would make a good deer and turkey bow for sure. Thanks for the well wishes, so far so good

Thank you Simon. it is 444 grams, I'm not sure how that compares. The huge tree is a tulip poplar. There are several in my backyard now. They are pretty cool trees.Beautiful bow! Do you think you could have gone for 28" draw with this length?
Thank you. I'm sure it could but it would probably just take a little more set. Since it's being sold I'd rather they stayed on the safe end and not push the limits too hard. I'm sure if it was overdrawn a bit it would be fine.
