I haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I would share these. 2 years ago I received a beautiful bamboo backed D/R tri-lam bow from Ty in ND. It is just a little lighter than my normal shooters, so none of my arrows really flew well from it. Plus, most of the arrows I have been making have been Dogwood shoots, and a bamboo backed bow ought to have bamboo arrows, right? I just got these made. I am discovering that it is hard to match garden stake shafts unless you have a ton to sort through. These all match spine, but the weights are off by more than my dogwood arrows--but still in the ballpark. The tips are home made from brass nuts on threaded rod.
Enjoy, and thanks for looking.

Dang, those are lookers! I'm always a fan of bamboo, and the brass points + matching fletching and cresting are real pretty.

They sure look good, bet they fly too.....

Awesome!
Edit: removed questions..... Should have read the post first lol (hard to get past the pics :OK)

Real nice! I need lessons in arrow making, just to be able to carry your tool box!

Nice arrows, self nocks and cresting, Jeff. What did you use for the indicator on the nocks and how did you apply it?
-
Those are sweet. The brown fletch looks like peacock, are they?
-
That's a nice set of arrows.

Pat, I wrapped the fletches and tips in sinew, and then for a index/indicator I glued on a grain of brown rice--using superglue and accelerator.
DC- the Fletches are all turkey feathers I bought at 3 Rivers. I would love some peacock feathers to play with.
Hawkdancer -- thank you for the compliment, I am not sure what you mean by carrying my toolbox, but if you are ever in Utah, I would be happy to make some arrows with you.
Thank you to the rest of you for your compliments. They do fly well. I feel like I am getting better at determining spine and in bare shaft testing as well as my ability to shoot more consistently.

Good looking arrows the cresting looks nice.

Love the look of those missiles. Self nocks look great.

They look great nice job

Jeff,
What size brass stock did you use? Good looking points!

I use 8-32 nuts and threaded rod. Three nuts, a washer and 3.25 inches of rod get me close to 125 grains, then I grind off the end to get it spot on.
