Title: Getting the tools..
Post by: Stalkingfox on August 29, 2018, 11:16:07 am
It has been quite some time since I last posted here. But fellas I'm back at it, I missed alot due to life issues but now I need earth to get me back to my roots.

I've been flint knapping for a few years on n off, and want to get an actual tool set going, I'm looking for a moose billet nice short fat one for hammer. I do want thise to be on the primitive side, I get a enriched feeling for it, odd really. I connect better with bone and stone.this is really what I have now. The (femur??) Works well as a multi billet but I need a bigger one, and an elk point or straight deer tine?  The the leather for a bit of blanket to keep slivers from my leg.

They'll be glass chips if anything, flint is scarce in these parts

for glass that bopper will be a little too big in my opinion
you may find more useful one that is 1/3 to 1/2 smaller in diameter (copper )

It's evident you're putting time in that tools
plan a copper flaker too. You will like it  :OK

Yup certainly found out that copper bopper is a bit large for glass hahaha. KABOOM (pieces everywhere.)
See I originally wanted just primitive AGO tools, but I didn't have antler around and I was having trouble finding good material other than glass. So in time I guess I'll just have both
