Title: Where the deer and the Turkeys play!
Post by: Hawkdancer on September 26, 2018, 10:19:29 pm
Went turkey hunting today with Little Fiddle Woman and our granddaughter Breezy.  Most interesting event.  Our host was showing us where to set up, and we saw 4 turkeys(didn't have our guns of course)!  As we were going in to set up later, we spooked a bobcat, couldn't get a shot, but had later 2 does feeding about 40 yards from where LFW and Breezy were set up.  Of course, I was around the bend in the draw!  Oh well!  No other turkeys came in our direction, so we decided to hang it up for the day. As we were driving out to the main road, we saw about 12 turkeys overtaking 4 deer.  It looked like the turkeys were chasing the deer, and then the deer were chasing the turkeys like in a game of tag!  This went on for several minutes, couldn't get a good pic or video as it was about 150 yards away.  As we were exiting the main gate, a 3x4 mule deer buck jumped the fence and went out ahead of us!  We have doe tags for a different area!  A successful hunt without firing a shot!
