Title: What would you do with a marten fur?
Post by: WhistlingBadger on November 06, 2018, 06:42:19 pm
A friend of mine who is a professional trapper gave me a really nice, tanned pine marten fur.  It was case skinned , meaning it's basically a big tube.  Too small to use as a quiver--it would only hold about five arrows.  It's a beautiful fur and it deserves to be made into something beautiful, but my creative muse has deserted me.

Any ideas?

It would probably make a nice trim for a quiver, bow case, or cover for a knife sheath or two, but I prefer bead work on a knife sheath.

I would make a quiver. 5 Arrows are enough in my opinion :).

Well, of course, most of us really only need to carry one...   ::)

If you like the Great Lakes native stuff, a whole hide tobacco pouch out of marten would be very nice.
