A vine maple selfbow. A good pup. A pair of ice skates.
We went looking for grouse. We saw 2. I did not get a shot on either of them, but we had a lot of fun!

That looks like a great way to spend a day. I cherish days like that with my pups.

Enjoyed your video Msturm. That looks like some really nice skating ice. Salty dog seems to like the skating.

Way to go! Watch out for thin ice! Friend of mine knocked down a grouse with a rock, once! I found out the a .44 magnum is only a good grouse gun if you can "bark" them! Takes a lot of practice!- or dumb a$$ luck in my case! Sorry, no pics, didn't happen! >:D (lol) (lol) >:D! Tasted real good, though! Btw, Little Fiddle Woman took one with her .45 cal ml rifle on a deer hunt, only meat we made that year! (lol)

What dog doesn't like winter weather. We are going to get up to 12" of snow this weekend, very unusual for us. Our newest 4 legged friend is only 7 months old. I can't wait to see her reaction.
Enjoyed your video very much. I'd say you've been on skates before and it looks to me, a non-skater that you may have played hockey before too. Cool video. :OK 8)

Be sure to grab video of her introduction to "white rain", PatB....it should be quite interesting!
Your video was still on the browser when I woke this morning and was making coffee. I watched it again and tripped over a hidden emotional landmine as it reminded me of the many mornings kicking snow in the brush with my last dog, Scully. Bow or flintlock pea shooter .36 cal called Perty Girl, or light loads in the side by side caplock Pedersoli 10 ga, understandably called the Fat Lady for her predilection for being the one to sing right before it is over. Bunnies in the snow with me was that dog's favorite thing in all the world. I miss her like a drowning man misses air. Salty appears to love that time with you just the same.
Thanks for posting the link to this video, Michael. I needed to be reminded of just how good life can be and that I need to be more present in the moment.

Very nice. That's the best eating wild game hands down (for me anyways).
Pat, I may have the one dog that doesn't like winter. He's a 15 year old rat terrier and he shivers when the temp drops below 50. Won't even go out if it's in the 30's.

Our solid black cat that came up with us from the coast in 1990(died at 25 years) always walked with us and the dogs. In '93 when the East Coast blizzard happened (we had 18"+) would jump from one foot print to the next protesting all the way but insisted on going with us.
John, I don't video but will have lots of pics to share.

Those big black labs really like winter. They don't like the hot sun so much.
JW I love that fat lady song
