We bought a new furniture set and had problems with it squeaking. The repair guy came around today to fix it. His fix was to stuff an area with leather. it was real nice leather so I commented on it and told him what I used it for. He said he repaired leather furniture too and went out to his truck and brought me this. :) :) :) I tried running a stitch through the edge and I couldn't tear it out. Nice stuff.

That looks like primo grade leather! Worthy of some neat projects!

It is nice stuff. Measured with my calipers squeezed tight it's .030" thick. Must be from an expensive couch.

Nice score, can never have to much leather lying around. That looks like some good stuff. :)

Nice score... I always keep a look out for old sofas being discarded when I go to the tip... mind you see some weird colour leather :o
I also have an old leather handbag from Mrs Cat that's yellow, haven't found anyone that wants a yellow grip yet ::)
Some of the nicest leather I've had was from a motorcycle jacket, the side panels are lovely supple stuff :)

Nice, I got an old expensive leather couch several years ago for free, some guy that lived on some fancy golf course was wanting it gone. I took it home and skinned it and that has kept me in good supply for a while now with plenty left still.

Some of the best leather I have gotten came from a brand new black leather Harley Davidson vest that I scored at Goodwill for $5.

That's a heck. Of a place to score a Harley jacket! I'll probably give mine to my son! Great leather, though!
