For some unknown reason my tillering gizmo video on youtube has been removed for "violating terms of service" whatever that is. I sent them message to see if they will give me an answer on what possible rule my video violated.
-
Sorry to hear that Eric... I have always been amazed at how much you have shared something that others would have sold. :OK

A lot of people are going to you tube looking for your video, strange.
-
I'd actually like to see the video, what about posting it here?
-
A lot of Squirrely stuff going on on YT lately..
-
Someone probably stole your idea,to make money off of it and complained, that you are infringing..
-
I thought there might be a possibility that someone patented the idea, who knows. There is another guy with a couple of gizmo videos up, they haven't removed his.
-
Keep us informed as to the outcome of your inquirery.i to think it aught to be posted on here in a permanent place.
-
Prompted me to go look.Guess i already made a comment, concerning it being yours..LOL
-
Building one with instructions for its use are in the how to section on this site.
-
The Krewson Tillering Gizmo is essential!!!
-
I use it all the time, thanks Eric.
-
That really stinks, thieves will steal anything these days. Hopefully YouTube will straighten this out.
-
Your gizmo was the most important aide for me in successfully tillering my first bow, and every bow since. I couldn't see the bends before that. Just look at all the first time bows posted here. you can tell which ones found the gizmo and which ones did not. Thank you for your generosity in sharing
-
Maybe someone has trademarked the name only and objects to it being used.
-
Eric have you tried just reposting it with a slightly different title?
-
I don't think you can trademark terms that are pretty much standard useage. "Gizmo" has been in use since at least WW II as a term to describe a somewhat improvised tool or object. Don't get on YT that often, so I don't know their thinking process. It is a most helpful object.

The whole thing sounds like a load of baloney. I would insist on getting a full and proper explanation from youtube including, who complained and why. A company or person can trademark a certain word or phrase, but actually trying to enforce it on an item that predates the copyright won't be successful.
-
YouTube deletes stuff all the time. I'm not sure if anything but putting a lot of pressure on them with awareness works. I would just upload it somewhere else, like Vimeo.
-
I think Pat hit on it, looks like a new name is in store.
-
A couple of years ago I started a little push to attach the name Krewson to the gizmo. It has been very significant in helping bow builders and reducing set in bows.
-
Is “doo dad”, or “thingamajig”, or ”deelybob” have a copyright was well....

Agree with Badger.. Eric's name should be represented.
-
I do use my name on my branding iron, I donate a lot of these fancy gizmos to the Trad Gang St Jude auction, I use a variety of figured woods.
-
that's a beauty! it's cool that you donate them, although I can't bid on them on that site... :( The brand looks great!
-
I like the angry shark face on that one Eric

I guess the thing I don't understand isn't Tillering Gizmo and Gizmo tewo different things? I couldn't read the fine print on Pats link, but who would trademark Tillering Gizmo unless they were trying to steal his idea? Eric is the guy that deserves the credit for a very helpful tool.
