Hello my friends. Nice to see forum PA again, after a long time. I was absent from bowmaking again but finally started. Here are two sapling bows, dogwood (cornus sanguinea). Owner cutted some fence and I took them both. They are brothers, from the same root and looks similar. I wanted to make matched pair of bows. Very high crown forced me to start from deflex, because they were not straight. Sanguinea is extremely tension strong wood (once before I made 140# longbow from sapling with high crown) and even with so high crown it overpowered belly, causing some set. Made two slim shooters and have some fun. :)
1-1/2” deflex with about 1/2” set.
389 gr smaller. 170cm ntn 35# 28”
434 gr larger 172cm ntn 50# 28”
P.S. I can not attach full draw although both pics are under 200 kb. :/

Nice, :)
You'll have to crop and edit the pics... bit of a pain.. :(
I've never tried Dogwood... got some in the garden but it's all twisty gnarly even too much for me to try ;D

I have had my eye on a seemingly ideal pair dogwood billets on our tree in the yard. I may be putting them to use soon. >:D

I love your bows !
As I read your name I remembered some bows you made. Just like this ones , amazing craftsmanship and good eye for tiller with those characterstaves!
Hope to see/read more from you.

No doubt, Mr. Druid, you let them perfectly bend again! I'd also like to remark that you obviously have special talent in photography. Looking forward to see your next bow-pics! Cheers
