I was gifted with some yew! not very straight but I take what I get!
It is still quite green. Was lying on ground for about 3 weeks, than they got sealed, and stored in the car at a shaded carport for another 3 weeks.
Now I have them here for a couple of days. There are some little cracks, already shown up before they got sealed.
Should I recut the ends???
When I splice them up should I seal the split faces as well??
Should I make precuts with a circular handsaw?? I don't have a bandsaw :(
They are about 4" - 5" in diameter. Split them in halves or quarters ??
Thank you for helping me!

Saw 'em into halves asap, paint the ends (and an inch along).
If you are in the UK, leave the bark on (we don't get wood borers like in the US).
Get them up off the floor somewhere dry and airy.
I wouldn't bother recutting the end.
If you are in the US (as I expect you are from your use of "gifted " rather than "given" ;) ) then someone from you side of the pond will offer more appropriate advice :)

I´m from Austria, Alps. And it honors me you believe I´m native English speaking ;D
The Staves/Billets are from nearby Vienna - so not that high altitude as here.
