Did some cutting other day off farm up the road. My 2nd Batt Ranger bud hunts and farms this place. Had a big Osage tree tip over. Got three 80" sections out of this bugger. Stuff looks OK for Tennessee Hedge. Figgered it to be a 70yr old tree.

Nice haul. Looks like some real good osage. :BB

You'll be throwing rocks at elm! :-) I'm a little jealous.

Way to go, that's a great haul. Lots of bows in those splits. Congrats.
-
Lots of stripping and sealing to do! Nice load! Plenty of staves to work on - you could develop orange vision! (lol)

Nice load! Waiting till fall to harvest my osage

That’s some good Osage I don’t care where it grew. No excuses in that pile. I would be interested in a couple of those staves if they could be sold for a good price. I’m not cheap when it comes to good staves. To my knowledge I have never built a Osage bow from Tennessee Osage. Arvin

Did you know the intermountain west is the best climate for seasoning Osage? I'd be willing to help a brother out. . .

That's a great haul!

Jeff,
We could have the whole batch cured for him by late fall, most likely! >:D :BB (SH)

Well Brothers,
Had to go back to this big ol Hedge tree and get last log. Then, I got to looking at the butt and thought "boy, I can get a pile of billets of this baby". So, I got to it.
