This is my first time working with hop hornbeam. Definitely makes a great bow, I've got more staves ready to use. The bow is 68" long and pulls 50#@29". I went with a willow leaf profile on this one. The customer wanted a dark bow so I stained the white wood with some dark leather dye. I got some nice skins from Cipriano and stained the wood black underneath to darken the skins. For the matte finish I used a product that Osage Outlaw and James Parker recommended to me at the Classic. It's VHT clear matte wheel paint. Not exactly primitive but goes on easy, dries fast and leaves a really nice matte finish. I still love my tru oil but it's nice to have as an alternative.

Awesome bow!

I like that finish as well, I’ve used it a couple times on some bush bows. They also use it on like bmx bikes and stuff. Nice tough finish. Really brings some life into those dark colors

High quality, and attention to detail as always Weylin. You must have some happy customers.

With that dark stain those skins jump out at you very nice bow.

Good looking bow Weylin, I like that one a lot. Did you notice any difference with set while tillering as opposed to Yew or Osage?

That’s a beautiful bow. Very PNW looking. Love your work man.

Beautiful bow Weylin. I like HHB to. I think it likes a good toasting on the belly to. I really like the smell of heat treat HHB. It doesn't make it any easier to scrap wood off the belly though.
