This stave was a gift from a guy I work with who never got around to making a bow with it. It has nice reflex in one limb so I steamed the other to match. Once it cooled and took it off of the form they are very close to the same profile. Shooting for 55lbs @ 27" on this one. It is almost to the stringing stage of tillering now.
-
Nice! cant wait to see how this turns out (-P

Got it to a low brace height yesterday evening. Made a string for it last night and will hopefully get to work on it some this weekend after drill.

Drill??? What branch are you in? I'm always happy to meet military members on here.

Well now I am in The Oklahoma Air National Guard but I started back in 84 in the USMC.

Looks really good so far. I look forward to seeing it come along.

PS
ThankYou Jim for your service. That's a pretty long list. Doesn't look like you missed much.

I suppose your signature line would have told me all that, but attention to detail isn't exactly what I'm known for. Glad to have you on board here. I find myself in Oklahoma every so often. Maybe we could meet up and do a little whittling if you are available when im in town.
-
Sounds good.To be honest I just added that signature today. LOL
-
It’s an honor to have you among us.

It is an honor to serve sir.

Looking good so far, I love the RD style, they are very smooth shooters. Thanks for you service, much appreciated. :)

Welcome aboard! Even part time, 30 years and 4 months was enough! Looking forward to the next pic of your progress on the Osage, looks good so far. A lot of vets in this group!

The right limb looks like it needs to bend more in the outer 2/3. It's stronger too but getting it to bend more will relieve that.
-
Welcome aboard,Thank you for your service.
Are you a member of the Oklahoma Selfbow Society? Lots of great folk's here. John

Yes pat, I saw that when I braced it and quickly took the pic and unstrung it. It will be 1st my task when I get to work on it again. Not a member of the OSS anymore. Need to renew. Thanks for the input guys.
-
Got it to 47lbs at 20" after I got the bottom limb bending better and now I can see that the top limb on the right is stiff mid limb.
-
Some pics from yesterday while I was sanding the tool marks. It pulls 60lbs @ 26" now and should hit that at 27" which is my draw length once finished and shot in I would think.
-
Looking good, Jim. :OK
-
That came out very nice!
-
Real nice looking bow! Should make a right on shooter!

That came out very nice, Razorsharp. An Osage r/d design like this may be next on my list. Nice work!
