Pat B, it shoots harder than I thought it would.Did a lot of heat treat and, tillering to keep set at a  minimum. Compact ,and light as a feather.I can see why Paul Comstock liked this wood. Thanks, Irish Jay cut some small trees near my home, and have plenty more staves to play with this winter.Though it is not considered a premium bow wood it works great.

Nice one Bassman. I like birch very much. Light as a feather in the hand.

Here is one I built years ago that took 3 inches of set. No heat treat.

Very nice work. I'm impressed by the unbraced shape. I think your heat treating must have been a big help. I only tried birch once--yellow birch--and I think it may not have been as dry as it should have been.

Good speed too.

Thanks Jim. I used quite a bit of repeated heat treating, and it was a very big help.

I always enjoy seeing "other" bow woods being done.  It looks good, cool post.

Thanks Ben. I flipped the tips a little also, and pushed it as much as I thought I could. My draw is short also, so that helps some in the tillering process.
