Title: Adding Depth to ELB
Post by: emd023 on November 06, 2019, 03:28:24 pm
Hi everyone. I purchased a 5/8" Ipe stave as well as a bamboo backing which brings the total depth to around an inch, which is a bit too thin for my liking. I was considering purchasing some purpleheart or bubinga boards from Rockler to add into the middle of the two to increase the depth (I would have to splice them together). These boards come in 1/4" to 3/4" thickness. Do you think this would be a good way to make the bow thicker? If not, any other suggestions? Thanks!

.750 should be good for 50#  I have a 90# in my hand right now that is .810    about 6ft long little less.
