This is a custom set that's heading out to hunt elk and bear in New Mexico. The bow is osage orange backed with deer rawhide to help it in the dry climate of New Mexico, and decorated with Western diamondback rattler skins. The bow is 64" long and pulls 60#@28". The handle is deer leather with kangaroo lace. The string is d97 with mink fur silencers. The arrows are made with tonkin cane shafts from Mainely Primitive. They're fletched with wild turkey feathers and deer sinew. They have rattlesnake skin accents made from the same skins on the bow.

Thank you, Will. I believe it's somewhere around 1 5/8" wide until mid limb.

Mighty fine work making a great looking bow and set of arrows. I love making bows, but I dont think I have the patience for making such a beautiful set of arrows.

Thank you. I hear you. Arrow making tests my patience. I've done enough now that I have my system down and that makes it easier. It's still pretty finicky.

Thanks! wish I was the one going hunting in New Mexico, but alas, it's for someone else.

Thank you. I added some rawhide on the back for some extra insurance. I've gotten a little more cautious these days.

Thatīs a very beautiful bow. I love the arrows too! Thereīs a lot of love for details in your work!

Absolutely beautiful work. Inspiring.
It seems that the curves are made up of an acute bend a few inches from the tip, then straightening towards the tips. Is this done to ensure string lift off at all times and and avoid the possibility of the string popping off the the bow at the grain bend near that one tip?

The customer from New Mexico sure is giving himself one lovely Christmas present. Top Notch, classy work as always, Weylin.

That's a pretty awesome set! At 60# that will do the job for sure!
-
That entire ensemble is top shelf. The bow is pretty as a picture and the arrows take it to another level. I love making bows. I dread making arrows. You did them both proud.
-
My goodness. You have a gift.

Excellent craftsmanship Weylin...

As always you never disapoint us. Fantastic Craftsmanship. John
