My mate Rob, who got shot in the head in Afghanistan had been shooting heavy warbows (I'd made him one)...
Problem is he fractured his arm when it got tangled in a rope felling a tree! :o ::) The docs reckon he won't be able to shoot heavy bows again >:( :(.
So... I offered to make him something to suit whatever he could manage and settled on a 45# @ 30" primitive style boo backed Yew.
I mailed it to him, 'cos his truck had broken down and he was struggling to fix it :o.
I just got a message from him saying he's sorted out the arrows that fly best from it and "they go like a f*$%ing laser beam" :)
It was great to hear he's back shooting again as it's one of the things along with his wife and kids that help him keep his head together.

PS The other bow in the pic is a scruffy bit of Italian Yew that pulls about 85# @28" which I'm just about getting on top of!

Do you guys across the pond have country music? He could pen quite a good bad-luck ballad...here's hoping things pick up! That bow should be a great start.

Very generous and thoughtful of you Del. I'm sure your friend will enjoy shooting again.

Way to go Del. The world needs more like you.

Things are looking up now Del. I think your buddy Rob and you are both lucky to have such good friends.
Hope everything heals up and the truck gets fixed.

Nice work, Del! Thanks for helping a buddy who is a vet! That is a real nasty war over there! With his permission, I would like to try to pen a verse or two for my song about bad luck!
