Been a while since i posted anything. Been making a bunch and thought this would be a good one to post. From dead standing stuff and had been roughed out and sitting in the corner for years. About 60" long and 40 to 45 at 26". 2 ply sinew string. Homemade braintan handle wrap. Sinew from pearly drums and fresh deer hide from badly bent. Thanks for looking.

Also my shepherd died last year and now got a 10 month old lab. He figured out real fast where to sit while im processing sinew

Wow that's a nice one,,,,congrats
-
Simple and elegant, beautifully done!
-
Very nice! Keeping it primitive!
-
Nice - there is a bit more going on profile-wise than just a stick, but it still LOOKS really simple. That's the same look my dog has when any sort of meat processing is going on...

Glad to see Your post Paul ! Classic look to the Bow, good lookin' Pup too. Take care Bud - Bob.

Beauty! A classy primitive from a knotty stave. You did great all around and the sinew string is the topping.
-
great bow. Love the sinew string. keep it primitive )P(

Another fine bow my friend. You can have that string though :)
-
Great looking bend there!
-
Excellent work Paul. It's beautifully simple

I don't know. This is probably the fifth or sixth one I've made and I feel like I I'm getting better at them. I believe the prior ones I twisted too much which gave it some stretch. Honestly I don't think this string any worse than a thick b50. I like all kinds of bows but I have a certain Nostalgia for the real primitive ones

Great looking bow! Beautiful knotty osage
-
Very nice
-
Good job on a knotty stave, tiller is right on.

Looks great Paul. Funny how quickly those dogs learn things like that. My daughter’s dog knows the sound of the garage door and the microwave. Knows I’m going to give her a little treat.

thats an awesome bow paul!! i also really like the sinew string. I feel like it gives the bow a little bit more meaning.

Sweet characterish bow Paul.Like the full draw.I've never met you but like your conviction/style/and showing of it.Should make a sinew string for a bow myself sometime but use up the sinew on other bows' backs.

Nice one buddy!
-
Nice bow, love the sinew string!

Beautifully simple bow buddy, and that string just adds to the whole primitive aspect... great work as always
-
Great looking bow especially with all those knots. Well done.
-
That's a beautiful bow they Paul. Sorry to hear about the shepard

Thanks guys for the nice comments. I've been making and shooting more modern styles lately but I still love the real primitive stuff.
Thanks Dave but it was time for her to go. She was having a hard time walking and went out on a high note as far as I'm concerned. The only thing that was terrible about it was it happened while I was at Elm Hall last year. It was a rainy day and I had a few drinks in me and my wife called to tell me she was going and there was nothing I could do about it being 5 hours away. My brother-in-law and father wrapped her in ice for me I came home and put her in my backyard the next morning where she belongs. Just wish I was there to deal with it

Lovely bow and a beautiful dog. Don't underestimate their intelligence, dogs are wonderful creatures and a Lab is right up there! Mine knows my every move and what it means.
-
Sorry for the loss of our dog.
The bow is beautiful. Well done.

Great looking bow, and the sinew string just tops it off. Makes me feel like I should at least learn to make one.
