Title: sambuccus nigra
Post by: stuckinthemud on April 07, 2020, 04:23:51 am
Found this when I was out on my 1 hour exercise yesterday.  I'm reliably told its elder, how wide do the stems need to be before they are mature enough to harvest?

if they are wide enough to make a bow you can harvest
from 3'' up it's all good  )W(
mind you'll have to deal with the hollow pith

There's a few good size branches, 2 that are 3" and 1 that is 6" diameter,  clean and straight for 70" or so.  Do they cleave easily or will I need to saw them along their length?
