Did annyone evver tried chestnut for recurve siyahs? I heard It is really bendable stuff when steamed, dont know if It is heavy or light weight Wood but i think it can make some tight radius recurves

American and Chinese chestnut are fairly light physically so they might be an option for siyahs.

What we have here is Sweet chestnut and horse chestnut

Horse chestnut isn't a true chestnut but related to American buckeye(Aesculus), American, European(aka. Spanish, sweet) and chinkapin are Genus Castanea. Any of them would probably be OK for syiahs.

Ah didn't know about the horse chestnut, their fruits looks the same as the Sweet chestnut
