Hi does anyone have any ideas, tricks/tips on decloaking a bow?
I’d prefer to avoid the bow gobbling belt sander if possible!
There is a lot of glue, tape and cling film!
Thank you in advance

A cloaking device, also known as a cloaking system, cloaking shield or invisibility screen, was a form of stealth technology that used selective bending of light (and other forms of energy) to render a starship or other object completely invisible to the electromagnetic spectrum and most sensors. It was encountered in varying forms over the centuries. For a period of time, the Federation ...
Hmmmm, not what you mean?

Sounds like you need to use a scraper

I think he needs some Romulan technology, perhaps a Bowyer's Edge. I think the late great Dean Torges was part Romulan:)

No what I need is one of these. A 30 second nose wiggle & job done!

what I need is one of these
are you sure?
Is your belt sander bench mounted? I use a portable, but it's mounted to the bench.

Cabinet scraper? Or is the bow invisible & needs to be made visible? The bow I just finished (my first) would have its looks much improved by invisibility. Come to think of it, so would I. ::)

Andy, looks like you have already decloaked Samantha. Now you just have to de bathing suit her:) Don't use a belt sander!

The bow. I think this is what you mean by invisible!
-
The belt sander is a 1hp mini beast!
I’m using 80 grit atm. I dread to think what it could do with 40 grit!!!!!

Looks like a real mess to me. I would start peeling off all the tape and plastic wrap by hand first to see what it looks like underneath.

Sorted.
1. Manned up and used sander to grind edges.
2. With edges ground, glue peeled off belly much easier
3. Heat gunned belly & back to get rid of tape. Heat gun is awesome!!!!!
4. Acetone & scotch bright to loose the tape glue
Sorted. Thanks chaps

Not sure why these didn’t load 1st time

Well done Andy. I had no idea there was actually a bow stave under all that glue and tape.
Next time you should de TARDIS a bow stave, much quicker.

I don't know about de-TARDIS-ing a bow. If it's bigger on the inside it might be too heavy to draw.

BA its all about the relative dimension in space, even if it is bigger on the inside. Besides you can automatically change the outside appearance into a nice piece of yew, osage or whatever you want. This sci fi analogy is starting to do my head in:)
