Title: Tension crack repair

What would be your choice of glue?
Given:
The crack was straight across.
You could brace the bow and get a thicker glue all the way to the end of the split.

Should also mention that the bow is 66" 45# @28" , semi bend in the handle and the crack is about 10" above the handle. Tiller ed well and have no idea why or when it broke

Tension cracks are almost impossible to repair. Only way I know of is to grind the back flat and back with hickory, maple of other hard backings.

If you knew why it cracked it might be worth grinding the back below the crack and sinewing etc it. If the back broke for 'no reason' it might be worth saying good bye to it before it gives you more headaches!

I agree might be something wrong with the wood,,
but glue not gonna hold it,,,
I have sinew wrapped places that were bad,, just to see what would happen,, with mixed results,, I am not recommending that, but just letting you know you are not the only one that has tried to fix same issues,,,
