Title: Black Locust design for 22" @ 60-70#?

yes,, sinew backed about 48 inches,, shorter if you want,,1 1/2 wide slightly narrow at handle, 3 or 4 layers of sinew,, parallel limbs,,narrow at tips,,
I have one thats 50#@20 inches,, thats 1 1/4 wide,,the bow is 43 inches and holds reflex and no crysal

Is sinew backing necessary at that length?

For a short locust bow I would sinew back it. For a longer bow(60" and up) I don't think the sinew backing would be necessary. BL has a tendency to fret if your tillering isn't spot on so a longish bow would be better ' wide and at least 1 1/2 and a semi pyramidal design.

Ive made a longer bow w bl but i want to try a shorter one. Thanks for the advice!
