I finished this one a few days ago. It's osage, 71" ntn. I have had this stave in my woodpile for about three years now, been trying to work up the courage to do something with it. There were two 1" branches sprouting from it about 12" apart. The stave also had a sort of deflex reflex shape. Any way, here it is.

How does it draw and shoot? Nice job with that stave.
-
Haven't had much time to shoot yet. She does draw nice and smooth, though.
-
Are peep hole sights allowed on self bows over there! ;D
Nice one.

Very nice,I love them hole bows, love to see a full draw picture. Chuck is that you,
the bow sure looks like one I seen this weekend at the Classic ? :)
Pappy

Wow, kudos to you on skill and bravery! That is one crazy looking bow!
-
That's a beauty - love the way you spaced the holes out.
-
That is pretty cool lookin. I hope to have the bravery (ie. skill) to deal with a stave with that sort of character someday.
-
Very nice. Love to see the full draw picture.

Very nice bow. I would also like to see a full draw plus an unbraced view.
-

I need to see a full draw photo tho..
nice job!

Awesome looking bow!!!
-
Great looking bow with nice narrow tips. I cant wait to see more of it. Justin
-
It does look like the bow chuck did at the classic this weekend. Nice job. How does it shoot? any noticeable hand shock?
-
That's gotta be the coolest looking bow I've seen in a long long time. Now I know you're embarrassed to go out in public with that thing so I think you ought to send that bow to me so I can have it! :)
-
That looks almost exactly like the bow Chuck was working on - his was a belly split with the same hole on each limb though, I believe.
-
Thanks, everyone. I don't know if I owe this one to skill as much as I do to shear luck! This bow was inspired by one that Jim Hamm wrote about in one of articles a while back-nice and long with very narrow outer limbs.
-
fantastic looking bow!!

Okay, here's a fulldraw pic and one of the unbraced profile. Also, a few more dimensions: 1.5" wide at the fades narrowing gradually to 10" from the tips where the limbs narrow into an eiffel tower shape to 3/8"nocks. It also weighs about 23.5 oz.

I do love that Yallar wood and with 2 hole it is just 2 cool! Well Done!
-
that thing is outrageous! good job, buddy!
-
Great job with such a challenging stave. Whip that out at a 3d range and you'll humble some wheels for sure. ;)
Like the layout and design, the last 2/3 of limbs looks light and fast, but with such narrow tips does the string stay in the nock groove well ? And also what method do you use to string the bow being carefull with the lower nock ?

Super Bow - nice full draw shot.
-
Great character and well tillered. It does look very similar to "Hole in the Bow Chuck" 's bow at the Classic.
You could add some cross hairs to both holes and have a short range sight and a long range site. ;D

Thanks again. No special stringing method, although I should get around to making a stringer.
-
Very nice,as I said before I love them hole bows and you made that piece of wood proud. :)
Pappy
-
Thanks. I was just happy that it stayed in one piece!
-
Really nice looking bow. Is there any chance of getting a full draw picture from straight to the side so we can see the tiller a little better? ;D Justin
-
Now there is something you don't see everyday. That's a really cool bow.
-
Very nice looking bow. I have one that is very similar,
with two holes. I was working on it at the classic. I
am finishing it now, and will post pictures when done.

....Now, THAT'S A COOL BOW !!!!!!
-
Looks good and has lots of character.
-
That is too cool. Do you use the top hole for a peep sight? ;D
-
That is one nice looking bow. You did good, really good!
-
Well, I'll be! I can't believe I missed this one!
That is a beauty, you really turned out a nice one. Good job.

That is an outstanding piece of work. It looks fantastic unstrung, braced or at full draw 8) That would lead to endless open mouths and questions over on this side of the pond ;D ;D

Thanks! I have had a chance to shoot it a bit over the weekend. Seems to have very little handshock. The cast isn't bad either.
-
Jcougar, Nice work, and I can see that " Tim Baker" influence in your limbs..after the "two holes" of course. I bet its a smooth and quick bow.

Can you tell me where a man might find that Jim Hamm article? that limb profile is awsome!
-
Bear-its the winter 2006 issue of PA. The article is called "Lonbows Were Given Their Name for a Reason". He only gives a brief description of the bow I refered to. However, I think that bow might be the one shown in the picture on the first page of the article.
-
jcoug, that's a awesome bow. Great tiller. Jawge

We calll that a paleo peep sight. Great job. Now yer family can brag that y'all are uptown you got a two holer. Lol. If anyone has ever lived in a house with an outside bathroom you'll catch my funny. Danny
