I think a sinew wrap and it'll be good to go ;)

Get you some good hickory. I can’t get it dry enough.

Back on Jan 22nd I posted an Osage bow that exploded on me with no warning also. Stave was several years old when I got it. Stored in my basement for a year before it turned into a bow. 200 arrows from it always in the basement. Strung it one day, 1st time to full draw it exploded. A few days later I bought an indoor thermometer that also reads humidity. Put it in my basement , 64degrees and 32% humidity. My conversion estimates that to about 6% MC of the wood. I not saying that’s the only reason it exploded, but I’m convinced it did contribute. Now I think I’m just going to chase some rings on staves, seal them as soon as I get one done, then move them to the garage until more favorable working conditions exists.

Allyn,
Surely you jest! That would be right up there with jumping out of an airplane without a reserve 'chute (lol)>:D >:D! You get to make the first full draw test (lol) (-P! I jest!
Fox,
That was a heck of an explosion, glad you are all right! Get working on the next bow asap!

I know the feeling. Overdry ones sound like a shotgun when they go bang. There's a high pucker factor there.
