I’ve got two large honey locust trees with a number of very large branches (6 inch diameter) that are drooping and blocking my lawn sprinkler and need to go. Anyone have any experience or even thoughts on using compression wood from honey locust? I know it’s generally considered marginal as a bow wood, but I also imagine compression wood changing the equation. Thanks.

Time Baker in the Traditional Bowyers Bible 4 says it is a bow wood. Specific gravity is 0.66.
It has more sapwood than black locust.
I've never used a branch of any wood or HL. You'll probably have to go 1.75 inches wide.
Ideally have heartwood back but you may not have enough wood for that but get as close as you can to the heartwood.
The TBB series is advertised on here and is a good set to have.

Although I've not used honey locust I think I'd treat it like any whitewood and just peel the bark for your back, make it wide and long, at least for your first one. After that you might know better how to use it.
