I have a few yew billets of some kind of ornamental yew that I cut last spring, and some super short Osage billets. The Osage billets are super short because I messed up the splice. I tried the W splice recommended TBB and totally goofed it. I’m wondering what to do with these other billets. How hard are takedown sleeves to use? I thought about that for the yew maybe? Or I could try splicing again maybe…

I find it pretty easy to make a take-down using seamless steel tubing. Much like fitting a wooden handle to a hammer or maul, but easier because the tubing is round.
I can take detail pix if interested.

I would love some detailed pics if you would do that

Jim is really good a making and installing sleeves, perhaps he will do a tutorial for us. What say you Jim?

I'll see what I can do...

That would be awesome!

Jim, I’d like to see details of your sleeves as well!

Me too - I have always thought that was an interesting idea.

can't seem to add images. I have reduced the size well below the limit and it still won't take them.

I have trouble with images here as well, when I want to post a lot of them with captions and insert them in story line I put them on IMGUR which will resize them and give your a link to insert in your text. It's free and very easy to drag and drop pictures into your album there.
I get the "file too large" message on a lot of my single picture posts here, even after I have resized my pictures to 640X480
