This is raw harvester chert, I broke this piece twice through recklessness before I buckled down and got serious. This is my second finished point from a spall to point. Indirect percussion saved my hide on this one, that technique is wonderful. I sharpened this one too but I won't hunt with it, it'll either stay with me or I'm giving it to my dad. I feel like I am finally understanding platform preparation which to me seems like the most crucial part of flintknapping.

Thank you BJ, this is my second point from direct percussion all the way through but I pressure flaked probably 11 points a couple years ago and I have a bunch of preforms I've messed up and broken a ton of pieces. All that is to say that it isn't just the second time I've tried to make a point, I don't want to mislead you.
