Hey guys,
About 2 weeks ago I bent some working recurves into a red oak stave but now I wish that I had put a sharper angle on the recurves. I put in recurves with only a 30 degree angle in them but now I want the recurves to have a 60 angle on them. Is there any reason why I couldn't or shouldn't boil the recurves again and bend them further? Your replies are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron

Heating damages wood cells. you may get away with it but you may not. Nobody can tell you the answer unfortunately.....
If I absolutely had to alter a set of recurves I would soak them in water for 3 days, then boil them and bend.
One ring on the bellyside. Edges well rounded over. Boiled for 30 mins per 1/2" thickness.
