Hi guys!
Another bow from me. This one was inspired by Modoc style bows. I used black locust wood and rawhide to make it. To apply the backing I used the hide glue. The bow is 53 1/2" ntn and it's drawing 50lb at 26". I made a handle working. The bow took 1/2" of set. Shoots sweet and smoother than I expected. I named it "Grizzly". It was a really enjoyable project.
In case you'd be interested to see how I made it, check out my video:

All the best guys!!!

Sweet dreams their dream craft.
Really like the bow. It might be an illusion, but it looks like it might be bending a little more right in the handle than I like. Otherwise I really like it.

nice video, and I like the full draw on the tillering tree there! did I see correctly that your back has a quite a violated grain, or does it follow a single ring?

I am going to have to agree that there is a bit more bend in the middle third of this bow than in the two outer thirds. But so small as to not make me the least bit concerned. This is nitpicking what is an incredible effort, but then, that's pretty much the norm for you these days. You have really been turning out some nice stuff!

JW I agree with this being a beautifully made bow. I certainly don’t want to discourage its creator. I’m not even certain my eyes aren’t tricking me. The area that gives me a bit of concern is right in the handle. My eye sees a little more bend about an inch below the arrow than I would prefer. Right in the palm of his hand. It’s really easy for this to happen. I really like everything else about this bow and I certainly hope that I didn’t offend dream craft. I think he is a good bowyer and he did a very nice job on this video. I hope he continues to share his work with us and others. I love everything else about this bow

Absolutely! Both of us are nitpicking at something incredibly minor because it's the only thing we find wrong!!!
He is fast becoming one of my favorite bowyers posting on here, that's for sure!

I dont usually comment on tiller,, in the photo,, it does appear to bend a bit much in handle,, but if it is not taking set or breaking,,the photo my not be the best reference,,

That’s exactly my thought Brad.

Shorter build than I'd ever attempt with locust. Well done! Nice looking tiller and paint job.

Nice bow !
what's the string made of? it looks a bit furry

I wont say much if not asked to. If you want some advice on the tiller I will put my two cents in.

Beautiful bow. What type of paint did you use on the back? Been trying to figure out what type of paint to use for painting bows.

I love this bows. Great work
